Paula Modersohn-Becker was born on February 8, 1876 in Dresden, Germany, and died on November 21, 1907 in Worpswede, Germany.
She was a German painter who studied in Bremen, London, Paris and Berlin. Paula married fellow artist Otto Modersohn in 1901, but her career came to an early end on her death in 1907 shortly after the birth of their daughter, Mathilde.
