Schmidt-Rottluff and art historian Dr Rosa Schapire were good friends. She received many hand-painted postcards from the artist of which this is an example.

Watercolour.

The additional image shows the grant agreement that was reached between Leicester Museums and the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1976. The V&A offered to pay 50% towards the purchase price of the artwork.
