The female figure with her raised arms clutching her head reflects the emotional state of Klopfleisch at the time, who had been interned on the Isle of Man in 1940-41. Whilst on the island she had suffered a miscarriage. This sculpture was a follow up to the original version (maquette), made in plasticine.
