Leicester Museums received a set of nine drawings by von Kaulbach in 1926. They were thought to be illustrations to a story. They are numbered so we know the order in which they should be viewed but we do not know what the story is. The third scene shows a couple in what appears to be some distress whilst they are sat by a baby’s crib. Whatever the girl has told the man seems to have shocked him and he has to reach out to the table to steady himself.
